MEETING POINT INTERNATIONAL - Uganda
Introduction letter

Dear Friends of Praha Kerpen,

I do send you my sincere greetings and hoping that this letter has found you and your families in good health. First and fore most, I would like to wish you great achievements and good health through out the year. My name is Kajubi Caroline, a social worker with Meeting Point International, a local organization working in collaboration with Support International to help HIV/AIDS patients/orphans and children from poor background. The main responsibility entrusted to me is to take charge of foster children and to check on them frequently in their schools and homes, in order to monitor their developmental growth both at home and school.

Godfrey's family hails from Kicwamba in Kabarole district in western Uganda and they are currently staying in Kampala district. This family receives assistance from Meeting Point International in terms of food, sugar and the like.

As far as education is concerned, Godfrey was transferred to another school at the beginning of this year; this was done in order to enable him improve on his performance by concentrating in class. Godfrey's new school is Modern Infant Nursery and Primary School found in Kawempe division in Kampala district. Godfrey is in Primary therefore, he has to study up to P.7 so as to complete this level of education and he joins the Secondary level of education. Modern Infant Nursery and Primary School is a private day school.

In Uganda, school ownership is categorized into two i.e. Government aided schools and Private schools. Government aided schools means the teachers including the Head teacher in that particular school are on the Government payroll list, such schools benefit from Government support like; School Facility Grants, Universal Primary Education Grants, text books and non- text book like instructional materials, therefore, this category of schools fall under direct Government control, While Private schools are those schools owned and managed by private individuals, Non-Governmental Organizations, Religious institutions, Private companies. All the administrative work in these schools including payment of salaries is catered for by the school management; the Government does not contribute any thing towards the day-to-day running of such schools but reserves the responsibility of maintaining quality and standards in these schools.

Godfrey is in his struggle to achieve academic excellence, he needs to put an extra effort to achieve this dream and we wish him the best of luck. We truly recognize and commend your continued support to Godfrey's education, may God reward your efforts.

Warm greetings from Uganda especially the community of Meeting Point International.

Yours truly,
Kajubi Caroline.
